About
My name is Michael Terrance...
I'm flattered you found my website and hope you'll check out my debut novel, The Last Nocturnae, by clicking on: My Books.
I'm a born and raised Ohioan, and I live with my family in Dayton, Ohio. I have a Masters of Science in Engineering rather than the Creative Writing, Liberal Arts, or English degree you might expect. I got most of my writing education from someone I've known my entire life and will remain nameles, but I honed my writing in a number of areas by taking classes taught by some of the greatest minds and most gifted writers from around the world.

I learned Creative Writing from Margaret Atwood, The Art of Storytelling from Neil Gaiman and Carol Oats, Storytelling & Writing from Salman Rushdie, Writing from James Patterson and Malcolm Gladwell, Storytelling & Humor from David Sedalia, Writing Thrillers from Dan Brown, Fantasy & Science Fiction Writing from N. K. Jemisin, Dramatic Writing from David Mamet, Writing for Young Audiences from R. L. Stine, Mystery & Thriller Writing from David Baldacci, Fiction & Storytelling from Walter Mosley, Screenwriting from Aaron Sorikin, Writing for Television from Shanda Rhimes, The Art of Negotiation from Chris Voss, and Fiction, Memory, & Imagination from Amy Tan.

Although my creative writing education has been unconventional and outside of an institute, I have grown to be a better writer and storyteller by taking these classes.
